There is something green/yellow growing in my pitcher/jug. What's going on?Updated 3 months ago
If you see something green or yellow in your pitcher, this is likely algae and while gross looking, it's nothing to be too worried about.
But, here are some tips on what to do if that happens and how to prevent it.
Descale your pitcher by dampening a clean cloth or a cleaning sponge with vinegar. Use the cloth or sponge to scrub the inside of the pitcher, which will remove mineral scale and impurities that may lead to algae if not cleaned on a regular basis. Rinse the pitcher with water until no vinegar scent can be detected.
Repeat this every other week to prevent this from happening again.
